The show for the week to watch is “The Fantastic Journey”.. there is only 10 episodes though 12 were originally ordered. It was cancelled unceremoniously and suddenly after the 10th one due to low ratings.
So yea while the camera angles and quality is not perfection, and the acting has little to be desired… it is still a fun show and lots of imagination in what ifs.
The show is a bit outdated as you can imagine, lots of stereotypes and what we woudl called politically incorrect or insensitive to cultures….but that is to be unexpected in this type of show. Knowing that, still the shows delivers some interesting creative ideas in how to make this island possible and the problem with time.
Basically a group of family plus a couple others are on a scientific expedition are lost when they encounter the Bermuda Triangle…cue the ominous music …. and a green fog.
They end up on a island where time is not steady. Thus as the group travels across the island they encounter people throughout history who are also trapped on the island.
To get back to their time and home they need to find a place called “Evoland”.
The second episode is called:”Atlantium”……In this episode they encounter city of Atlantium, built by the original Atlantis survivors.
The third episode is called Beyond the Mountain. The group is separated by a red cloud while one set encounters green people living in of course a swamp, the others find a society of robots.
The fourth episode is “Children of the Gods”. In this episode they find a kid who as run away from a colony run by children under one main bully.
The fifth episode “A Dream of Conquest” has an alien dictator who has been on the island, planning to invade all the different time-zones to control them.
In the sixth episode, “An Act of Love”, we find the traditional fall in love and abandon companions theme. This one does the volcano sacrifice theme…
