Yesterday caught a portion of the French 2014 version on Netflix, and while looking up some information on that video I found several more I was unaware of. Decided to place them here along with information on each of the versions… enjoy the different treatments

The Scarlet Flower (1952 film)

This is a Soviet feature animated film directed Lev Atamanov. A bit off the usual account but the main elements are there. The father takes a rose for his daughter and is imprisoned. He is released when a daughter is sent to take his place. And the beast is revealed to her, but she is allowed to go back and forth to home as long as she returns by 8 via a ring for he shall die of loneliness. She forgets and returns as he is near death. Of course he turns into a handsome prince under a spell.
