Snow of a Child

Since I am decorating and remolding for the Christmas season, seems it is fitting to present to you another winter poem reflecting the fun I am having  … enjoy

Orbs of innocence look out upon the white vision reveling in the sight
Creation of nature sent to give hope to the spring with frozen water
A sight of splendor lay before those bright eyes with wonderful thoughts

Not of a snow encrusted sidewalk that needs shoveling despite back pain
Not of a slippery street to maneuver a car down, fishtailing to and fro
Not of a roof bending, groaning from the recent weight of snow dumped on it
Not of useless white mess that causes nothing but sadness

Orbs of innocent see not the problems or strife in life that snow causes
They only see the beauty hidden in those fragile unique diamond flakes

Beauty of a sled ride down a big hill ending by tumbling into a snow bank
Beauty of ice under your blades as you fly unhindered across the pond
Beauty of a snow angel created not by God but a small child’s body
Beauty of a fresh snow cone or an icicle to stir a drink chilling the juice

Orbs of innocence, the eyes of a child, the future of the world and man

About jasterling

One part of my life is in the science of anthropology and archaeology where I did comparative work. My other life that I am now pursuing is writing along the lines of fantasy/sci fi fictional writing as my one way to stay sane in this other insane world. Please enjoy the selections you will find in my blog.
